Occupy Wall Street Journal: Poster Edition Launched in Brooklyn

The OWS newspaper launched a beautiful poster edition today during the Occupy Brooklyn march. You can see just a small selection of the work here. More posters at occuprint.org but it’s really worth getting a copy of the print newspaper as well—it’s a keeper.

On Friday we had an impressive storm move in from the west.

Abstract Botanic

There so much to see this time of year at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Despite being nestled in between Flatbush and Washington avenues  it is wonderfully quiet during the week.

Rockaway Beach, Queens, NYC

With an assignment to capture sand, blue skies and sea, I joined the many cyclists heading down to Rockaway this afternoon.

Coney Island Mermaid Parade 2011

Coney Island Mermaid Parade

Some mermaids found ingenious ways to deal with heat at Coney Island today. Mermen were in abundance with costumes as fabulous as their lady counterparts. See more pictures in my Flickr slideshow.

Coney Island’s 1st Annual Pet Day

Despite the drizzly conditions, a few brave dogs turned out for the first Coney Island pet parade this afternoon, with the lady above taking first place. Her assistant took care of the winner’s paperwork—a season pass to Deno’s Wonderwheel amusement park plus a whole lotta dog food.
